What is a webquest?

"An inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by students is online. By providing links necessary to complete the quest, the student is able to focus on the material rather than spend time looking for it.The five-part WebQuest (Introduction, Task, Process, Evaluation and Conclusion) promotes critical thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation"

Why webquests?

Webquests are popular in education because they challenge students with high order thinking activities. They also match the constructivists� theory as they provide a collabritive learning experience where students would work in a group and work in a context under a theme and it motivates students as they are the ones to do all the work and most importantly they activities are setup for students to think.

How to use webquest?

Webquests could be used in and outside classrooms.

Culture (from the Latin cultura stemming from colere, meaning "to cultivate,")[1] generally refers to patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activities significance and importance. Cultures can be "understood as systems of symbols and meanings that even their creators contest, that lack fixed boundaries, that are constantly in flux, and that interact and compete with one another"[2] Different definitions of "culture" reflect different theoretical bases for understanding, or criteria for evaluating, human activity.

-Write a story from your own culture.

-Compare two different stories from different cultures.

-Name a food from a culture.

-Imagine that you�ll open a restaurant present a menu of three meals from a culture.

Music/Art:

-Find morals from the story.

-Post a picture representing a story.

-Find a song, music, or dance from a culture.

-Draw a picture.

General Knowledge (History/Geography/Science etc..):

-Search about a culture find the date the existed, the location on the map.

-Give reasons why these culture exist there.
